★ Character Information ★
Character Name: Hades
Character Age: As old as time or at least the Earth?
Character Species: God
Current Health: Healthy and spry.
Outfit: He wears his fur and feathers like clothes.
Character Canon: Olimpos
Link to History: Hades is the oldest brother of the godly trio that literally began it all in Olympos. The three brothers drew straws to determine which realm they would rule and he chose the earth and all that lies underneath. As such he became a rather mysterious figure associated with riddles and death whom the humans - and to some extent the gods - feared.
Most of his time is spent in the bowels of the earth, seeing to the souls of humans and creatures alike. However, when his interest is piqued, he will sometimes travel to other domains. One of his favorites is Zeus's garden - which was constructed in part thanks to his planning. It seems the eldest brother has a soft spot for his Kingly (and youngest) brother. Because of the domain Zeus rules (i.e. the sky), he is oftentimes detached from everything and everyone.
Hades sought to change that. Thus, with the aid of Apollo, they captured a Trojan Prince who was pretty enough and intelligent enough to keep the King happy. Throughout the manga's events, Hades slowly teaches Ganymede (the Prince), Apollo and to some extent Zeus why becoming more human - more mortal - (and thus decaying) is both a joy and a sorrow.
By the end, he is rewarded with a rarity indeed: his little brother smiling at the golden Prince.
Canon Point: After Zeus smiles.

★ Folkmore Roles & Attributes ★
Skills: Does his dry wit count? Or his penchant for poetic phrases?
Canon Abilities: His appearance changes depending on who looks at him (his appearance seems based on how the person feels about mortality/death). Secondly, he can pass through shadows silently and according to his whims. Don't mind him showing up at random. It's fine. Thirdly, he's old and experienced. If you're talking about humans or animals or trees or whatever, he probably knows all about them. I guess that counts more as a learned ability, but I imagine he was born with a fair bit of wisdom too.
Role: Myth
Role Qualities/Attributes: He is pretty much good to go, appearance wise, but I can make it wilder/grander. (i.e. more horns, larger wings, longer claws etc.)
Role Reasoning: He is literally mythic - even his appearance falls in line with that role. But more than his appearance, Hades is not heroic (thus Legend wouldn't suit him) and he isn't bound to attach himself to anyone (thus he can't be a Familiar). He is the first oddity, born of shadow and wilder than his brothers, and he follows his instincts without fail. He is drawn to humans and he likes perceiving the wide array of their emotions, but that doesn't mean he shares them. He is something above humanity and yet more like the nocturnal creatures that linger in the dark.
★ Personality ★
Please choose one of the follow options for your personality section. Please clarify which option you have picked and, if option 2, which questions you are answering:
Option 1. Summarize your character's personality in general and what their full potential would look like to them and what they would be willing to go through to meet that potential and what gaining that potential would mean to them. 400-800 word requirement.
Hades is the wisest of the gods. He understands life in a way Apollo, Poseidon and perhaps even Zeus cannot. This shouldn't be shocking as he witnesses humans going through their cycles on a consistent basis. He also has a keen understanding that nothing lasts and that it is best to savor the sweeter parts of life for that reason. (Like a delicious treat, such moments should be devoured with a ravenous hunger.)
Because he understands that nothing lasts, Hades knows when to bide his time and when to give things - and beings - a delicate push. (And sometimes he gives said pushes because he deems it an amusing way to pass the time.) Despite his wisdom and his patience, he is a god as immature as all the rest. He's just better at hiding those inconsistencies of his nature than his poor brother Poseidon (and perhaps Apollo too). Someone like him - who is consistently around those who "hide from the light" (i.e. thieves, murderers etc.) - should be well-versed in cloaking their weaknesses from those who could hold it against them. So don't expect him to yell or scream, though when upset, he might make a quick exit instead.
As stated before, Hades is a god of shadows and those who frequent them. Liars, thieves, murderers and so forth fall under his jurisdiction - and he does not judge them harshly. Rather, he hides them from the light - his brother Zeus. Thus it is unsurprising that he shares some traits with those he governs. When boredom strikes or he sees an opening for amusement (such as when Apollo was conversing with the human girl Iris), he will act according to his desires. If he wishes to be somewhere, he will be there. If he wishes to divulge a secret, he will do so. Hades is a god without morals or chains, though, oddly, he does not seem to wish anyone in particular ill. He is content - as content as he can be - and all he seeks now is...
An end. He does not know how that will be accomplished, but he looks forward to seeing the world crumble away. What will become of the gods then? Will they finally meet the one who created them? He seems to long for that end, though he is in no particular hurry to see it accomplished. Maybe humans - some of them anyway - are entertaining enough to make existing worthwhile for a little bit longer.
